ColorBlaze® Mini Me™ Watermelon Coleus (scutellarioides)
This wonderful new coleus, ColorBlaze® Mini Me Watermelon, features watermelon to coral foliage with golden chartreuse accents. It forms a tidy, well-branched plant that works well as a border in landscapes and in containers as a thriller plant. As a bonus, Mini Me Watermelon will perform in both sun and shade! Like all ColorBlaze® coleus, it is bred to take the heat and bloom very late in the season, if at all, extending its garden performance into the fall. This new type is substantially smaller than the rest of the ColorBlaze® coleus.
- 12-20 inches tall and 10-18 inches wide at maturity
- Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
- Plant in sun or shade
- Space plants 10-16 inches apart for best results
- Produces lavender flowers very late in the season, if at all
- Maintains watermelon to coral foliage with yellow highlights from spring to frost
- Great for borders, containers, landscapes, mass plantings
- Resists deer
- Heat tolerant, foliage interest, adaptable as a houseplant, deadheading not necessary
